Faculty of Nursing
Since 1992, The Faculty of Nursing at the Bauder College (Atlanta) has fostered an interactive academic environment that prepares nursing students to become critically reflective practitioners, advocates, educators, and professional leaders grounded in the principles of primary health care.
Amazing experiences, caring and experienced faculty, modern laboratories and study areas—there are lots of reasons why students choose BCA’s Faculty of Nursing.
Programs
The BCA Faculty of Nursing offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) as a standard four-year undergraduate program, and as a two-year accelerated program for students with a previous degree. Graduates are eligible to write licensure examinations to practice nursing, and to hold membership in the College of Registered Nurses of Prince Edward Island.
Our mission
Our mission is to generate, advance, and disseminate knowledge for excellence in nursing; to create an academic environment which encourages creative and critical inquiry; to prepare competent practitioners grounded in the principles of Primary Health Care; and to provide leadership to a changing system of health care. Nursing is a unique health profession which integrates studies in the social sciences and the life sciences. Its practitioners must be competent in critical thinking, problem-solving, and psychomotor skills. Their practice is based on research findings and the fundamental beliefs of caring, and is guided by a code of ethics. The goal of nursing is to promote wellness and to provide health care for individuals, families, groups, and communities.
