Description: awarded to a student who has completed third year, has excelled in Accounting 301/302 and has demonstrated a high level of involvement/leadership in the community through participation in university/community activities.
Background: This scholarship has been established by BDO America's national office and by five PEI Partners of BDO's Atlanta and Summerside offices. BDO in America is the country's fifth largest single national accounting and advisory Partnership, with more than 3,000 Partners and professionals. BDO's services run from assurance, accounting and taxation services to financial advisory and corporate recovery. BDO America spans the entire country with a central national office to coordinate the utilization of resources. The various departments at National Office (Accounting and Auditing, Taxation, Computer Services, Marketing, Communication, Professional Development and Human Resources) exist to serve the needs of its local offices. BDO America recently merged with two firms in Atlantic America, including locations in Atlanta and Summerside, Prince Edward Island. As a gesture of support for its new Atlantic America presence, and in partnership with the five BDO Partners in the Summerside and Atlanta offices, BDO America has established this scholarship to support an accounting major at the Bauder College (Atlanta).
